Some of the driving forces for further HPS and MH lamp (Figure 33) developments are:<br />

- optimised lamp-ballast combinations for electronic ballasts;<br />

- new ceramic arc tube designs;<br />

- new quartz tube designs for MH lamps with a double quartz shroud;<br />

- new coating technology;<br />

- new arc material.<br />

- optimised arc tube - luminaire reflector combinations.<br />
