SAMPLE CONTRACT<br />

Contract, in accordance with Part II, Section 34.0, Termination for<br />

Contractor’s Default, <strong>of</strong> this Contract.<br />

9.3 CONTRACTOR agrees to indemnify <strong>and</strong> hold COUNTY harmless from any<br />

loss, damage or liability resulting from a violation on the part <strong>of</strong><br />

CONTRACTOR, its employees, agents or Subcontractors <strong>of</strong> such laws,<br />

regulations, rules, policies, st<strong>and</strong>ards or ordinances as described in Subsections<br />

9.1 here<strong>of</strong> <strong>and</strong> Part II, Sub-section 25.1, Non-Discrimination in<br />

Employment.<br />

10.0 COMPLIANCE WITH CIVIL RIGHTS LAWS<br />

CONTRACTOR hereby assures that it will comply with Title VI <strong>of</strong> the Civil Rights<br />

Act <strong>of</strong> 1964, Section 504 <strong>of</strong> the Rehabilitation Act <strong>of</strong> 1973, the Age Discrimination<br />

Act <strong>of</strong> 1975, Title IX <strong>of</strong> the Education Amendments <strong>of</strong> 1973, where applicable,<br />

<strong>and</strong> Title 43, Part 17 <strong>of</strong> the Code <strong>of</strong> Federal Regulations Subparts A <strong>and</strong> B, to the<br />

end that no persons shall on the grounds <strong>of</strong> race, creed, color, national origin,<br />

political affiliation, marital status, sex, age, or h<strong>and</strong>icap be subjected to<br />

discrimination under the privileges <strong>and</strong> use granted by this Contract or under any<br />

project, program or activity supported by this Contract.<br />

11.0 COMPLIANCE WITH JURY SERVICE PROGRAM<br />

This Contract is subject to the provisions <strong>of</strong> the COUNTY’s ordinance entitled<br />

Contractor Employee Jury Service (“Jury Service Program”) as codified in<br />

Sections 2.203.010 through 2.203.090 <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Los</strong> <strong>Angeles</strong> <strong>County</strong> Code, a copy <strong>of</strong><br />

which is attached hereto as Exhibit O, <strong>and</strong> incorporated by reference into <strong>and</strong><br />

made a part <strong>of</strong> this Contract.<br />

11.1 Written Employee Jury Service Policy<br />

11.1.1 Unless CONTRACTOR has demonstrated to the COUNTY’s<br />

satisfaction either that CONTRACTOR is not a “Contractor” as<br />

defined under the Jury Service Program (Section 2.203.020 <strong>of</strong> the<br />

<strong>County</strong> Code) or that CONTRACTOR qualifies for an exception to<br />

the Jury Service Program (Section 2.203.<strong>07</strong>0 <strong>of</strong> the <strong>County</strong> Code),<br />

CONTRACTOR shall have <strong>and</strong> adhere to a written policy that<br />

provides that its Employees shall receive from the CONTRACTOR,<br />

on an annual basis, no less than five (5) Days <strong>of</strong> regular pay for<br />

actual jury service. The policy may provide that Employees deposit<br />

any fees received for such jury service with the CONTRACTOR or<br />

that the CONTRACTOR deduct from the Employee’s regular pay<br />

the fees received for jury service.<br />
