What if I don't get along Talk to the person you don't get along with. Many times
with the foster parent, the you can solve even big problems through honest
group home staff, or my discussion. You should also tell your social worker. If this
social worker? doesn't work, you may want to consider filing a complaint.
Every group home is required to have written complaint
procedures. You cannot be punished for filing a complaint.
The home’s grievance procedures should be posted in a
location accessible to you. If not, ask one of the staff what to
do - they are required by law to inform you of how to file a
complaint. 43 If you live in a foster home, your foster parents
must give you the address and phone number of where to file
confidential complaints and how to do so. 44 If your complaint
is with your social worker, you should consider talking to or
sending a letter to the worker’s supervisor. If you have an
attorney, you should also talk to him or her.
