SAMPLE CONTRACT<br />

2.7 “Community” - For placement purposes means the area/zip code where the<br />

Placed Child <strong>and</strong> his/her family were living at the time the child was taken<br />

into custody or where the Placed Child's family is living when the child is<br />

placed.<br />

2.8 “Community Care Licensing Division” or “CCLD” – means the Division <strong>of</strong><br />

the California <strong>Department</strong> <strong>of</strong> Social Services that licenses community care<br />

facilities including Foster Family Agencies. They also monitor compliance<br />

with Title 22 regulations.<br />

2.9 “Contract” – means an agreement executed between COUNTY <strong>and</strong><br />

CONTRACTOR. It sets forth the terms <strong>and</strong> conditions for the issuance<br />

<strong>and</strong> performance <strong>of</strong> Exhibit A, Statement <strong>of</strong> Work.<br />

2.10 “CONTRACTOR” – means the sole proprietor, partnership, or corporation<br />

that has entered into a contract with the COUNTY to perform or execute<br />

the work covered by Exhibit A, Statement <strong>of</strong> Work.<br />

2.11 “Corrective Action Plan” or “CAP” – means a document that serves as the<br />

CONTRACTOR’s commitment to remedy deficiencies in response to<br />

findings uncovered in investigations, as further described in Part I, Section<br />

16.0, Hold Status, Do Not Refer Status, Do Not Use Status, Corrective<br />

Action Plan, Sub-section 16.1 <strong>and</strong> Exhibit N, DCFS Foster Family Agency<br />

Contract Investigation/Monitoring/Audit Remedies <strong>and</strong> Procedures.<br />

2.12 “COUNTY” – means the <strong>Department</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Children</strong> <strong>and</strong> Family Services on<br />

behalf <strong>of</strong> the <strong>County</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Los</strong> <strong>Angeles</strong> <strong>and</strong> its Board <strong>of</strong> Supervisors.<br />

2.13 “<strong>County</strong> Worker” – For a DCFS- Placed Child, <strong>County</strong> Worker is a<br />

<strong>Children</strong>’s Social Worker (CSW).<br />

2.14 “COUNTY’s Program Manager” (CPM) – means COUNTY representative<br />

responsible for daily management <strong>of</strong> contract operation <strong>and</strong> the oversight<br />

<strong>of</strong> monitoring activities, compliance with the requirements <strong>of</strong> the Contract,<br />

<strong>and</strong> the delivery <strong>of</strong> services.<br />

2.15 “Court Appointed Special Advocate” or “CASA” – means a court appointed<br />

person who advocates for the Placed Child’s needs <strong>and</strong> best interests <strong>and</strong><br />

provides the court with written recommendations.<br />

2.16 “Day” or “Days” – means whether singular or plural, whether with initial<br />

letter capitalized or not, shall mean calendar days, <strong>and</strong> not business or<br />

workday, unless otherwise specifically stated.<br />
