Unless otherwise specifically provided in this Contract, all notices to<br />

CONTRACTOR shall be given in writing, by enclosing the same in a sealed<br />

envelope addressed to the intended party <strong>and</strong> by depositing such envelope with<br />

postage prepaid in the United States post Office or any substation or public<br />

letterbox. All notices to CONTRACTOR shall be sent to CONTRACTOR:<br />

or such other person <strong>and</strong>/or location as may hereinafter be designated in writing<br />

by CONTRACTOR.<br />

8.2 All notifications from COUNTY enclosing an amendment or new or revised<br />

policy, procedure, protocol or exhibit to this Contract shall be sent by mail.<br />

8.3 All written notification from COUNTY regarding CAPs, Hold Status, DNR or<br />

DNU Status shall be sent by certified mail, return receipt requested.<br />

9.0 CONFIDENTIALITY<br />

9.1 Pursuant to applicable Welfare <strong>and</strong> Institutions Code sections, including, but not<br />

limited to sections 5328 through 5330, 10850 <strong>and</strong> 827, all Placed <strong>Children</strong>’s<br />

records are confidential. Portions <strong>of</strong> these confidential records, pertaining to the<br />

treatment or supervision <strong>of</strong> the child, shall be shared with CONTRACTOR<br />

pursuant to the DCFS <strong>and</strong> Probation policies in effect <strong>and</strong> applicable State <strong>and</strong><br />

federal law. The Juvenile Court has exclusive jurisdiction over juvenile records,<br />

documents <strong>and</strong> case information as well as the responsibility to maintain their<br />

confidentiality <strong>and</strong> the confidentiality <strong>of</strong> dependent children. A child under<br />

DCFS’ or Probation’s supervision may not be videotaped, photographed, voice<br />

recorded or interviewed, for media, research or other purposes, unless the<br />

Juvenile Court has issued an order permitting such access. Anyone requesting<br />

to review a Placed Child’s case records, interview a Placed Child for research or<br />

media purposes, or photograph or videotape a Placed Child, must obtain written<br />

approval in accordance with Juvenile Court policy as described in <strong>Los</strong> <strong>Angeles</strong><br />

Superior Court, Local Rules, Chapter 17, Juvenile Division, Dependency<br />

Proceedings, effective May 1, 1999. CONTRACTOR agrees to maintain the<br />

confidentiality <strong>of</strong> its records <strong>and</strong> conform to existing orders <strong>of</strong> the Juvenile Court<br />

<strong>and</strong> policies promulgated by State <strong>and</strong> federal laws <strong>and</strong> COUNTY policies<br />

regarding the Placed Child’s confidentiality.<br />
