(ii) Withdraw shaft and check trueness of shafts,
carry out metal build up / insert sleeves on both
journals (fwd & aft) machine and journals to be
made smooth and mirror finish as per MQC
instructions. Resight shaft line and align shaft with
respect to gear box.
(iii) Check and renew split roller Plummer bearing 02 Nos
(self aligning ball bearings Type­ SN 520 Series),
bearing grease to be renewed.)
(iv) Renew bulkhead glands hemp packing (matgreased
hemp, size­ 1/2 inch sq x 370 mm long x
08 no, shaft dia­ 90 mm).
(v) Inspect shaft couplings, coupling key and
keyways, coupling nut and renew.
E­20006 Carry out renewal of ‘A’ Bracket thordon bushes
with carrier and correction of eccentricity if any.
Renewal of bushes and machining instruction as
per inspection report and recommendation of
MQCE.
E­20007 02 in nos. sea chest grating to be opened, Mud
Box/Sea tube to be chipped, cleaned and
inspected. Repair / renew as necessary, Anode to
be renewed in side mud box/sea tube and to be
painted with approved paint scheme.
E­20008 Overhaul and clean both hydraulic rudder
motor(Type­ HSG TK 70), renew top & bottom oil
seals, piston seals, “O” rings as per sample and
refit relief valves(set pressure­40 kg/cm2). Prove
the system on board and offer trials. (Make­ Geeta
