THE PROCEDURE IS COMMON TO: Repair, refurbishment,/renewal/ New Installation /replacement and Testing / Commissioning of Electrical Defects on board ship / establishment. The procedure is common for new /replace /renewal refurbish/repair of electrical equipments, electrical items, weapons and electrical cabling, electrical rotating machines and different types of Electrical /weapons systems and includes various types protective control fuses & assembly, Various types of Indications, Different types of switches, Change over switch, Miniature circuit breaker(MCB), Moulded case circuit breaker (MCCB), cables/ wires & cabling, alarm/hooters, All types of Control panels and system control panels, Generator/Alternator, AC/DC Motors, Measuring instruments & gauges, Light / pressure/ temp/ current sensors, connectors, thermostat, Float/level switches/ sensors, Rectifier, drum controller, carbon brushes& holders, commutator, collector, slip ring, bus bar & power cables, Lugs, numbers/ ferrules, Identification tallies, Potential/Voltage transformer(PT) & Current transformer(CT), Isolation transformer, Lights and light fittings, Switch board, Local control panels, DB, JB, Heat shrink & PVC sleeve, counter, timer, Electronic PCB, Cutouts, Varnishes, Insulators, Galley hot plate, Battery charger, 2. QC CHECKS TO BE UNDERTAKEN AS PER SOW/ CHECK LIST : Sr. ACTIVITY No. DESCRIPTION REFERENCE DOCMENT & CHECK LIST INSPECTION SCOPE OF WORK P R W H 01 Repair, Overhauling, Refer to QAP : QCL074QAP001 for Alternator 1 2&3 3 3 refurbishment, new (i) Checks during removal and opening inspection, installation and Check for technical details of removed / opened commissioning/Testing Alternator for any damage /missing / of Alternator / abnormalities . Check for serviceability / condition Generator of Alternator for to ascertain the serviceability of each components to undertake repair/ overhaul / renewal. ii) Check for old & New bearings to be QC checked before fitment at QC bearing Lab. iii) Check winding ohmic values & insulation of winding. iv) Check for overhauling and cleaning of all by CTC / alcohol / petrol Alternator parts like body, winding, rotor, shaft, rocker Arms, carbon brusher & AVR . Defective parts to be renewed as per sample and reputed / OEM make conforming IS. v) Carbon brusher to be renewed as per grade & size confirming IS vi) If winding found burnt/over heated/Zero insulation (Not improved even overhauling) to be rewound as per original data. vii) New procured winding wire to be QC checked in the QC WWT Lab viii) Dr bake varnish / coat varnish to be applied on the winding. viii) Rotor to be balanced and trueness checked. Certificate to be provided . ix) Shaft bearing size to be checked, if found changes then rotor shaft built up/machined by fabrication & machining. x) Check rotor bar open / crack / shorted with shaft to be repaired, if It found beyond then to be renewed as per design. xi) Check for inspection for insulation & proper assembling, fitment, alignment and connections. xiii) Check for terminal block, terminal connections cables lugs, cable glands.
