1. Follow the instructions for a simple<br />

nested model.<br />

2. In the Construct Model Effects list, click<br />

4. Add a third nominal or ordinal effect.<br />

5. In the Construct Model Effects list, click<br />

on the third effect. In the Select<br />

Columns list, click on the first effect.<br />

Both effects should be highlighted.<br />

Construct Model Effects<br />

The following sections describe in detail the options that you use to enter effects into your model.<br />

Add<br />

The Add button adds effects to the model. The modeling type of the variable determines how the variable is<br />

treated in the model:<br />

• Variables with continuous modeling type are treated as regressors.<br />

• Variables with nominal or ordinal modeling types are treated as main effects.<br />

Note: To remove an effect from the Construct Model Effects list, double-click the effect, or select it <strong>and</strong><br />

click Remove.
