52 Introduction to the Fit Model Platform Chapter 2
Validity Checks
Validity Checks
Fit Model checks your model for errors such as duplicate effects or missing effects in a hierarchy. If you get
an alert message, you can either Continue the fitting despite the situation, or click Cancel in the alert
message to stop the fitting process.
If your data has missing values, you have the following options:
• Fit Separately uses all the nonmissing rows when fitting the model for a particular Y variable.
• Fit Together uses only those rows that are nonmissing for all of the Y variables.
When Y variables are fit separately, the results for the individual analyses are given in a Fit Group report.
This allows all the Y variables to be profiled in the same Profiler. See “Fit Group” on page 625.
Note: The alert message only appears when you are fitting the model using JMP, not a script. Scripts use
the Fit Together option, unless you specify otherwise.
