Tip: We recommend that you increase the maximum number of adapters to suit your configuration. Changing this value can only be done in the profile and to activate this setting you must change the profile and reactivate the LPAR. 3.4.2 Creating a Shared Ethernet Adapter It is important to create the Shared Ethernet Adapter before creating the client profiles since simultaneous creation of client/server SCSI adapters relies on dynamic LPAR being available. To create a Shared Ethernet adapter, perform the following steps: 1. Use the lsdev command on the Virtual I/O Server to verify that the Ethernet trunk adapter is available (see Example 3-3).
