The Trunk priority flag for this SEA adapter is set to 2. This is for making the<br />

SEA adapter <strong>on</strong> VIO_Server2 the backup adapter. Click OK when d<strong>on</strong>e.<br />

3. For the adapters to be available <strong>on</strong> both Virtual I/O Servers, you need to log in<br />

using the padmin user ID and run the cfgdev command <strong>on</strong> each Virtual I/O<br />

Server, since they were added dynamically.<br />

Tip: The settings for the Virtual Devices <strong>on</strong> each Virtual I/O Server are:<br />

On VIO_Server1:<br />

► SEA Virtual Ethernet properties:<br />

– Virtual LAN ID 1<br />

– Trunk priority 1<br />

– Access external network butt<strong>on</strong> checked<br />

► Virtual Ethernet for c<strong>on</strong>trol channel use: Virtual LAN ID 99<br />

On VIO_Server2:<br />

► SEA Virtual Ethernet properties:<br />

– PVID 1<br />

– Trunk Priority 2<br />

– Access external network butt<strong>on</strong> checked<br />

► Virtual Ethernet for c<strong>on</strong>trol channel use: Virtual LAN ID 99<br />

4. Change the SEA adapter device <strong>on</strong> VIO_Server1 using the chdev command,<br />

as shown in Example 4-3.<br />
