Clients acquiring <strong>IBM</strong> software licensed <strong>on</strong> a per-processor basis should<br />

c<strong>on</strong>sider the following licensing criteria (for n<strong>on</strong>-<strong>IBM</strong> software, users should<br />

c<strong>on</strong>tact the respective ISV sales representative):<br />

<strong>IBM</strong> AIX 5L and selected pSeries software programs are licensed<br />

per-processor and licenses are required <strong>on</strong>ly for those partiti<strong>on</strong>s where the<br />

AIX operating system and <strong>IBM</strong> programs are installed.<br />

<strong>IBM</strong> AIX 5L and selected pSeries software programs may offer<br />

per-processor/day licensing for temporary use.<br />

Linux distributi<strong>on</strong>s have their own licensing methods and licenses are<br />

required <strong>on</strong>ly for those partiti<strong>on</strong>s where the operating system is installed.<br />

The <str<strong>on</strong>g>Advanced</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>POWER</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>Virtualizati<strong>on</strong></str<strong>on</strong>g> software (VIO and PLM) is licensed<br />

per-processor and licenses are required for all the systems.<br />
