5.1 Dynamic LPAR operati<strong>on</strong>s<br />

This secti<strong>on</strong> discusses how to move resources dynamically, which may be useful<br />

when maintaining your virtualized envir<strong>on</strong>ment. We will look here at following<br />

operati<strong>on</strong>s:<br />

► Additi<strong>on</strong> of resources<br />

► Movement of adapters between partiti<strong>on</strong>s<br />

► Removal of resources<br />

► Replacement of resources<br />

5.1.1 Add adapters dynamically<br />

The following steps show <strong>on</strong>e way to add adapters dynamically:<br />

1. Repeat step 1 <strong>on</strong> page 268, but this time choose Virtual Adapter Resources<br />

and then the Add/Remove butt<strong>on</strong>.<br />

2. The next window will look like the <strong>on</strong>e in Figure 5-1. Click the Create client<br />

adapter butt<strong>on</strong>.<br />
