Adding a PCI hot plug adapter<br />

For this VIOS, slots C2 and C3 are both empty hot-plug PCI adapter slots. Slots<br />

C1, C4, and C5 are also hot-plug adapter slots with an Ethernet card in C1, a<br />

SCSI RAID adapter in C4, and a graphics card in C5.<br />

To add an adapter, choose Add a PCI Hot Plug Adapter from the menu and a list<br />

of available slots will be presented, as in Example 5-14.<br />

LPAR with the following tasks occurring:<br />

► Indicator light for adapter placement flashes<br />

► Adapter installati<strong>on</strong><br />

► Finish adapter installati<strong>on</strong> task using the diagmenu command<br />
