Summary<br />
In this chapter, we have clarified the significant role played by <strong>HR</strong><br />
professionals as “stewards” for coaching in their organizations. You<br />
have learned more about the three aspects of the <strong>HR</strong> professional<br />
role as they relate to coaching: managing the overall coaching program,<br />
supporting the start of new coaching assignments, and supporting<br />
the coaching during and at the end of the assignment. To<br />
help you manage your coaching resources, you have been given<br />
some critical questions to ask yourself as you fulfill your stewardship<br />
role. You have been advised of some the ways that you can support<br />
the start of new coaching assignments. Finally, you have learned<br />
about some of the most effective tasks that you may assume in order<br />
to maintain your support during and at the end of the coaching<br />
assignment. To help you evaluate progress toward goals, you have<br />
been given some questions to ask regarding the client’s behavior and<br />
its effects on the organization.<br />
In the next chapter, you will learn more about the client’s role<br />
to help you understand more about what the client may be experiencing<br />
and how you can be instrumental in the client’s success.
