Program Objectives
For students interested in earning a Bachelor
of Arts degree in History, this Associate of Arts
degree provides two years of university transferable
courses that fulfill most or all of the requirements
to enter the third year of a Major or Honours
program in History.
Program Requirements
In addition to fulfilling the requirements for
a general Associate of Arts degree, to earn
an associate degree in history a student must
complete at least 18 credits of history, courses
at the 100- and 200-level, including at least six
credits at the 100-level.
Admission Requirements
Admission to the program requires the completion
of English 12 with a grade of “C” or better. Other
prerequisites depend on the electives chosen to
complete the program. Students who lack the
admission requirements may still gain entry to the
program by taking a combination of upgrading
and university courses in their first year. This may
extend the length of their program.
