Selk<strong>irk</strong> <strong>College</strong> maintains <strong>ca</strong>mpuses in Castlegar,<br />

Trail, Nelson and Grand Forks. There are two<br />

Learning Centres situated in Kaslo and Nakusp.<br />

Castlegar<br />

The Castlegar Campus is Selk<strong>irk</strong> <strong>College</strong>’s<br />

main <strong>ca</strong>mpus. Home to the Environment and<br />

Geomatics, University Arts and Sciences, Business<br />

Administration and Aviation, and Health and<br />

Human Services programs, the Castlegar Campus<br />

also houses the majority of the college’s administrative<br />

departments.<br />

Nakusp<br />

On January 25, 2007, Selk<strong>irk</strong> <strong>College</strong> celebrated<br />

the grand opening of the Nakusp Learning<br />

Centre’s new home.<br />

Founded in 1978, the Nakusp Learning Centre<br />

and its dedi<strong>ca</strong>ted staff offer Continuing Edu<strong>ca</strong>tion<br />

(CE) and Adult Basic Edu<strong>ca</strong>tion (ABE) courses<br />

to almost 1,000 students each year. The new<br />

centre features two fully-equipped classrooms, a<br />

dedi<strong>ca</strong>ted computer lab, a large ABE classroom<br />

with computer and science lab areas, and a<br />

student and staff lounge area.<br />

Nelson<br />

Nelson is home to three Selk<strong>irk</strong> <strong>College</strong> <strong>ca</strong>mpuses;<br />

Kootenay School of the Arts (KSA), Silver King<br />

and Tenth Street. Each offers distinctly different<br />

programming and lo<strong>ca</strong>tions, but share the exciting<br />

atmosphere that Nelson offers.<br />

KSA Campus<br />

The KSA Campus enjoys a central lo<strong>ca</strong>tion in<br />

downtown Nelson. The histori<strong>ca</strong>l site has been<br />

recently renovated and upgraded to house the<br />

four studios needed to support KSAs diverse<br />

programming in Art, Craft and Design.<br />

Silver King Campus<br />

Silver King is the primary delivery point for the<br />

School of Industry Trades and Training and one<br />

of several lo<strong>ca</strong>tions for Adult Basic and Special<br />

Edu<strong>ca</strong>tion programming. Lo<strong>ca</strong>ted in a residential<br />

neighborhood (Rosemont), the <strong>ca</strong>mpus enjoys an<br />

expansive <strong>ca</strong>mpus, which provides ample room<br />

for various workshops. Campus services at Silver<br />

King include a <strong>ca</strong>feteria, learning centre, library<br />

and bookshop.<br />

Tenth Street Campus<br />

Like the Silver King Campus, the Tenth Street<br />

Campus is also lo<strong>ca</strong>ted in a residential neighborhood<br />

of Nelson (Fairview). Comprising two<br />

buildings and the famed Studio 80, the Tenth<br />

Street Campus is home to the School of Digital<br />

Media and Music and the School of Hospitality<br />

and Tourism. Campus services include a<br />

<strong>ca</strong>feteria, gymnasium, library, student lounge, and<br />

bookshop.<br />

Trail<br />

The Trail Campus enjoys a convenient lo<strong>ca</strong>tion<br />

in the downtown core. Its close proximity to the<br />

Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital make it<br />

the ideal lo<strong>ca</strong>tion to house the Advanced Medi<strong>ca</strong>l<br />

Transcription and Nursing Unit Clerk programs.<br />

In addition, the Trail Campus offers Adult Basic<br />

Edu<strong>ca</strong>tion programming and is the administrative<br />

headquarters for Distance Edu<strong>ca</strong>tion.<br />
