Selk<strong>irk</strong> <strong>College</strong> administered scholarships,<br />
bursaries and awards are listed below by <strong>ca</strong>tegory.<br />
Appli<strong>ca</strong>tion dealines are indi<strong>ca</strong>ted for each <strong>ca</strong>tegory,<br />
and the name of the award is required on<br />
the appli<strong>ca</strong>tion. Many awards require appli<strong>ca</strong>nts to<br />
be registered in a specific program; some may have<br />
additional eligibility criteria. Award recipients are<br />
selected from among the appli<strong>ca</strong>tions received by<br />
a committee.<br />
* Please note: Scholarships recipients may be<br />
selected by the following processes: Appli<strong>ca</strong>tion,<br />
Departmental Nomination and by GPA reports. If<br />
the scholarship you are looking for is not listed on<br />
the appli<strong>ca</strong>tion and is an internal award it is safe<br />
to assume that it will be selected through one of<br />
the other processes listed above.<br />
Awards and Support<br />
Selk<strong>irk</strong> <strong>College</strong> Entrance Scholarships- A<br />
monetary award to eligible, full-time students<br />
entering Selk<strong>irk</strong> <strong>College</strong> for the first time who have<br />
demonstrated outstanding a<strong>ca</strong>demic achievement.<br />
Appli<strong>ca</strong>tions are available in the Financial Aid<br />
Office or may be downloaded from our website<br />
from Mid-February until the last Friday in March.<br />
SIDIT Awards - Trades and technology students<br />
from communities across the Southern Interior<br />
of BC may have access to $3.9 million in support<br />
over the next three years, as a result of the single<br />
largest donation for student awards in the history<br />
of Thompson Rivers University, Okanagan <strong>College</strong>,<br />
Selk<strong>irk</strong> <strong>College</strong> and <strong>College</strong> of the Rockies.<br />
All funding provided by SIDIT and administered<br />
by participating institutions. SIDIT Awards,<br />
SIDIT-Trades and Technology Appli<strong>ca</strong>tion and<br />
SIDIT Transitions Appli<strong>ca</strong>tion available online.<br />
Scholarships - A monetary award to students<br />
enrolled in a minimum of 80 percent course load<br />
who have demonstrated outstanding a<strong>ca</strong>demic<br />
achievement while attending Selk<strong>irk</strong> <strong>College</strong>. Appli<strong>ca</strong>tions<br />
are available in the Financial Aid Office<br />
or may be downloaded from our website from<br />
Mid-February until the third Friday in April.<br />
Bursaries - A monetary award to eligible students<br />
enrolled in a minimum 60 percent course load<br />
who have demonstrated financial need and who<br />
have a minimum grade point average of 2.0.<br />
Appli<strong>ca</strong>tions are available on our website from<br />
the end of September until the last Friday in<br />
October.<br />
Work Study - Work on <strong>ca</strong>mpus during the school<br />
year. Selk<strong>irk</strong> <strong>College</strong> offers a student employment<br />
program for full-time students. Check out the<br />
job postings at the Financial Aid Office in early<br />
