Selk<strong>irk</strong> <strong>College</strong> offers an opportunity for qualified<br />
<strong>ca</strong>ndidates to acquire a Bachelor of Edu<strong>ca</strong>tion<br />
(Elementary or Secondary) through the University<br />
of British Columbia West Kootenay Teacher<br />
Edu<strong>ca</strong>tion program. Completing this program<br />
leads to a UBC Bachelor of Edu<strong>ca</strong>tion degree and<br />
recommendation for initial teacher certifi<strong>ca</strong>tion by<br />
the BC <strong>College</strong> of Teachers.<br />
When you graduate from the BEd program, you’ll<br />
be qualified to apply for certifi<strong>ca</strong>tion to teach in<br />
the province of British Columbia. You <strong>ca</strong>n also<br />
apply for certifi<strong>ca</strong>tion in other provinces and<br />
countries (each province and country has its own<br />
certifi<strong>ca</strong>tion requirements).<br />
