Program Objectives<br />
This degree combines course work in humanities,<br />
social sciences, and sciences with a strong<br />
grounding in peace and environmental studies. It<br />
is also part of the Mir Centre for Peace at Selk<strong>irk</strong><br />
<strong>College</strong>. Students will complete an Associate of<br />
Arts degree, which allows them to transfer into<br />
the third year of Bachelor of Arts degree programs<br />
in British Columbia and elsewhere in Canada.<br />
The program incorporates a service learning<br />
component and/or directed a<strong>ca</strong>demic research.<br />

Admission Requirements<br />
Admission to the program requires the completion<br />
of Biology 12, Chemistry 11, English 12, and<br />
Principles of Math 11 with a grade of ‘C’ or<br />
better. Other prerequisites depend on the electives<br />
chosen to complete the program. Students who<br />
lack the admission requirements may still gain<br />
entry to the program by taking a combination of<br />
upgrading and university courses in their first year.<br />
This may extend the length of their program.<br />

so that the general requirements for an Associate<br />
