Electronic Commerce is an introduction to the<br />

business models, infrastructure, strategies, design<br />

changing society is also an important topic. The<br />

primary aim of this course is to identify key management<br />

considerations required in implementing<br />

e-commerce business solutions.<br />

COMM 220 Principles of<br />

Organizational Behaviour<br />

The Business Administration Principles of<br />

Organizational Behaviour course is an introduction<br />

to the behaviour, relationships, and performance<br />

of individuals and groups in work organizations as<br />

well as the nature of organizational structure and<br />

processes. Organizational dynamics are examined<br />

with a view to creating an effective working<br />

environment from a human perspective.<br />

ECON 106 Principles of Economics<br />

Topics covered include: national income accounts,<br />

etc.; international trade - balance of payments,<br />

exchange rates, <strong>ca</strong>pital flows.<br />

ENGL 12 or equivalent with a grade of “C” or<br />

ADMN 171 Management Principles<br />

An introduction to management theory,<br />

This course introduces students to basic concepts<br />

and principles of marketing. Topics include<br />

Canadian entrepreneurship, small business<br />

management, evaluation of business opportunities,<br />

and marketing management. Market planning will<br />

be emphasized as well as practi<strong>ca</strong>l decision making<br />

in regards to evaluating the business environment,<br />

market segmentation, market research, and strategy<br />

choices. The marketing mix or product, price, place<br />

of distribution, and promotion will be discussed<br />

in depth.<br />

ADMN 250 Managerial Accounting<br />

An introduction to management accounting<br />

concepts, including job order and process costing,<br />

cost-volume-profit relationships, variable costing,<br />

activity-based costing, standard costs, cost control<br />

through flexible budgets, segment reporting and<br />

identifi<strong>ca</strong>tion of costs relevant to price, product<br />

and replacement decisions.<br />

knowledge base which becomes a foundation for<br />

strategic planning. Case studies will be used to provide<br />

planning and decision-making opportunities.<br />

ADMN 296 International Business<br />

A comprehensive overview of the impli<strong>ca</strong>tions<br />

challenges inherent in the transformation to an<br />

international economy.<br />

Prerequisites<br />

None, but an Introductory Marketing course is<br />

ADMN 297 Developing a Business Plan<br />

This course examines the details and components<br />

of a comprehensive business plan. Business plans<br />

are a written analysis of what a business hopes<br />

to accomplish and how it intends to organize its<br />

resources to achieve those goals. Students will<br />

produce a business plan with the objective of<br />

using the plan as a vehicle for operating a business<br />

and measuring progress toward goals.<br />

ADMN 181, COMM 241 or equivalent.<br />

COMM 241 Financial Accounting II<br />

The Business Administration Financial Accounting<br />

II course is the next financial accounting<br />

course, reviewing and enlarging upon concepts<br />

and principles, their appli<strong>ca</strong>tion to and effect<br />

upon financial statements. Topics include: <strong>ca</strong>pital<br />

and intangible assets, current and long-Semester<br />

liabilities, partnership accounting, accounting for<br />

corporate transactions, notes and bonds payable,<br />

the <strong>ca</strong>sh flow statement, and financial statement<br />

analysis.<br />

COMM 240 with a grade of “C” or better.<br />
