Here show that nano dopants could be effective if correct amounts in the HA matrix will used. The number of treated skeletal deficiencies steadily increases in a global scale. Effective ways for bone replacements and enhancement of bone formation together with research directed to find ideal biomaterials for grafting purposes, which will feature biocompatibility and production simplicity and economy, are required. Hydroxyapatite (HA, Ca 10 (PO 4 ) 6 (OH) 2 ), the main mineral component of bones and teeth, is among the leading biomaterials satisfying these requirements. Nevertheless, pure HA features low mechanical strength and fracture toughness, which limit their use in loadbearing applications [1]. The applications of pure HA are restricted to non load-bearing implants due to the poor mechanical properties of HA. Doping with (biocompatible or even better bioactive) oxides may result in strong HA composites [2]. There are lots of studies using various oxides, whiskers in the literature but they are almost nothing about adding nano-dopants into HA matrix in the recent literature. The aim of this study is to produce stronger HA composites adding nano-dopands than regular composites. Calcined (at 850 °C) HA powder was produced from fresh bovine femoral bones (BHA).
