Terbutaline
A/E: Tremor,tachycardia.
P/A: Tab : 2.5 mg, 5mg. Syrup : 1.5 mg/5mL
Nebulisation solution 10mg/mL MDI: 250mcg/dose
Dose: 0.005mg/kg/dose ( 0.01ml/kg/dose) SC.
0.05mg/kg/dose q8h oral
nebulisation: 5 drops ( 20kg)
Prednisolone: (see section on anti-inflammamtory drugs)
Methyl Prednisolone
P/A : Inj 500mg,1g Tab: 4mg,16 mg.
Dose : A/c asthma: 2mg/kg/dose q8h.
Auto-immune diseases and shock: 30mg/kg/dose.
PREVENTORS
Salmeterol
A/E: Tachycardia, rarely prolonged QT interval in ECG,
insufficient data in < 4 yrs.
For preventive thereapy , it’s used in combination
with Fluticasone.
P/A: MDi 25mcg/puff Rotacaps: 50mcg/cap
Dose : 1-2 puff 12 h.
Fluticasone
A/E: dysphonia,candidiasis .Insufficient data in < 2 yrs.
P/A: MDi:nasal spray,0.05% cream,lotion
Dose: 100 mcg or more q12 h as MDi
