501.8.5. Arrangements for traffic: During construction operations, arrangements for traffic shall<br />

be made in accordance with the provisions of Clause 112.<br />

501.8.6. Environmental protection: The provisions of Clause 111 of the Ministry’s <strong>Specification</strong><br />

for <strong>Road</strong> and <strong>Bridge</strong> <strong>Works</strong> (third revision) 1995 and the provision of Annexure A to Clause 501<br />

shall apply.<br />

501.8.7. Measurement for payment<br />

501.8.7.1. Potholes and cracks: The work of filling potholes shall be measured separately and<br />

be paid for in square meters.<br />

The work of filling cracks by applying fog sprays or emulsion slurry seal shall be<br />

measured in square meters, for the area covered by the spray.<br />

The work in filling-cracks larger than 3mm in width shall be measured and paid for- on a linear<br />

meter basis.<br />

501.8.7.2. Scarifying: Scarifying the existing bituminous surface shall be measured on a square<br />

meter basis.<br />

501.8.7 3. Profile corrective course: Profile corrective course shall be measured as the volume<br />

instructed and compacted in position and measured in cubic meters, or in tonnage, as stipulated<br />

in the Contract. The volume shall be calculated by plotting the exact profile of profile corrective<br />

course as required, and laid, superimposed on the existing pavement profile. Cross-sectional<br />

areas of the profile corrective course shall be measured at intervals as used in t he design, or as<br />

determined by the Engineer in charge, and the volume shall be calculated using the method of<br />

end areas.<br />

501.8.7.4 Prime coat: Prime coat is to be measured and paid for on a per square meter basis.
