GORDON W. BROWN studied lawto become a more knowledgeable teacherwith expertise in the legal field.He attended Suffolk University LawSchool, Boston, MA, at night for fouryears, while teaching during the day.After law school, he became a memberof the Massachusetts Bar and took aposition as a professor at North ShoreCommunity College, Danvers, MA,where he taught for the next thirty years.Before ending his thirty-eight yearteaching career, he taught business, secretarial, andparalegal subjects at Pepperell High School,Pepperell, MA; Endicott College, Beverly, MA; andNorth Shore Community College. In addition toteaching, he also opened a law office in Beverly,MA, and enjoyed a full-time career ofpracticing law, writing textbooks, andbeing a husband to his wife Jane, thefather of six very special children, anda grandfather to twelve grandchildren.In 1998, Mr. Brown was awarded theOutstanding Educator Award from hisalma mater, Salem State College. Inaddition to this text, Mr. Brown is theauthor of Legal Terminology, publishedby Prentice Hall, and Administration ofWills, Trusts, and Estates, published byWest, Legal Studies. He is also co-author of BusinessLaw with UCC Applications, published byIrwin/McGraw-Hill. Currently, Mr. Brown continuesto be a practicing attorney and is an active member ofthe Massachusetts and Federal Bars.PAUL A. SUKYS is professor ofhumanities, law, and legal studies in theArts and Sciences Division of NorthCentral State College in Mansfield, OH.In addition to teaching business lawcourses at North Central State College,he specializes in teaching interdisciplinarycourses including, “The Legal andEthical Aspect of Health Care,” Science,Art, and Literature, “The History of theFuture,” “Contemporary Ethical Issues,”and “The Philosophy of Technology.” In2001, he received the Pushing the Envelope Award atNorth Central State and in 1998 was named NorthCentral’s Outstanding Teacher of the Year. He is theauthor of Lifting the Scientific Veil: ScienceAppreciation for the Nonscientist and co-author oftwo additional books, Business Law With UCCApplications and Civil Litigation. He was chairpersonof the Business Law Committee in the developmentof the National Standards for BusinessEducation established by the National BusinessEducation Association (NBEA). Along with CynthiaRedmond of Bozeman High School in Bozeman,MT, he developed the business law lessonplans for Entrepreneurship TeachingStrategies, jointly sponsored by theNBEA and the Kauffman Foundation. Atpresent, he is working on the businesslaw chapter for NBEA’s 2003 Yearbook.In 1966, he was a member of theDANTES Ethics in America NationalWriting Committee sponsored by theChauncey Group International. A memberof the Ohio Bar, Professor Sukysreceived his bachelor’s and master’sdegrees from the John Carroll University inCleveland and his law degree from Cleveland StateUniversity. He also attended additional classes atNew York University and Kenyon College. He ispresently working on his doctorate in applied philosophyand art history at the Union Institute inCincinnati. He has also taught at John CarrollUniversity, the Fairmount Center for Creative andPerforming Arts, and Cuyahoga Community College.Currently he is writing a new book entitled QuantumRelativity: The Philosophical, Artistic, and LiteraryDimensions of the Theory of Everything.xxx Meet Our Authors
