8.1 Commands & Data Handling (CDH)The Command and Data Handling subsystem (CDH) manages commands to and telemetry from the <strong>GP</strong>-Bspace vehicle as well as some communication on board the space vehicle. It consists of the <strong>Flight</strong> Computer(CCCA), Solid State Recorder (SSR), Command & Telemetry Unit (CTU), Watchdog Timer (WDT), and theInterface Unit (IU). These components are discussed in detail below The CDH also provides the interfacebetween the CCCA and the RF transponders, as well as the Control Gyro and <strong>GP</strong>S receiver. Figure 8-1 belowshows the physical locations of these boxes. The region in green shows the locations of the CCCA, SSR, IU, andCTU. The regions in blue show the transponders and antennas.Figure 8-1.
