monthly time scales. Though only shown in a simple outline here, the standard model gives a convenient frameof reference for the whole team in which to discuss results and propose new explanations and models forobserved phenomena.14.2.5 Publication of Overall ResultsBased on the successful results announcement strategies for the COBE and WMAP missions, the Gravity ProbeB project will announce the results of the experiment only after the internal data analysis effort is complete(Phases 1, 2, and 3, above), and after critical and detailed peer review of the results from the gravitationalphysics community. No data or preliminary results will be released prior to this point. This is done to insure theintegrity of the result and maintain credibility within the wider scientific community.Once this work is complete and both the internal and external review teams are satisfied with their reviews, theresults will be presented, along with a coordinated set of papers on the design and operation of the mission, at amajor physics conference.422 March 2007 Chapter 14 — Data Collection, Processing & Analysis
