Colonieson OA flat with entire margin; surface salmon to hazel, no aerialmycelium, reverse salmon to vinaceous buff; growth rate 21–24mm in 7 d (30–33.5 mm in 10 d). Kelvedon Gl<strong>or</strong>y by Neergard (1943),and validated with a Latin description seven years later (Neergard1950). <strong>Colletotrichum</strong> godetiae c<strong>or</strong>responds to C. acutatum groupA4 as recognised by Sreenivasaprasad & Talhinhas (2005) and topart of clade F as defined by Guerber et al. (2003). Acc<strong>or</strong>ding toSreenivasaprasad & Talhinhas (2005), group A4 c<strong>or</strong>responds togroup B from New Zealand (Lardner et al. 1999). However, the onlyC. acutatum group B strain from New Zealand that we have studiedbelongs to C. acerbum (A6-2). Faedda et al. (2011) describedstrains from group A4 that cause olive anthracnose in Italy as C.clavatum, not knowing that an older name f<strong>or</strong> this <strong>species</strong> exists,of which the ex-holotype culture is available in the <strong>CBS</strong> culturecollection.
