ETO Case 000­Mauthausen­10, U.S. v. Wilhelm Kauffeld, was tried at
Dachau, Germany, during the period April 23–24, 1947, before a General
Military Government Court. The defendant, a Waffen SS sergeant, was
accused of participating in assaults and, in one case, the killing of inmates
at Steyr Concentration Camp, a sub­camp of Mauthausen. As approved by
the reviewing authority, Kauffeld was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
