Three of the accused, Seebach, Wichmann, <strong>and</strong> Weishar, were not tried.<br />

Wefers was acquitted. Schaeffer was given a prison sentence of 5 years;<br />

Nuszkowski <strong>and</strong> Winter, 10 years; Panhans, 20 years; Stuetz, 30 years; <strong>and</strong><br />

Wagner, life. Giovanazzi <strong>and</strong> Schmitz were sentenced to death. Giovanazzi’s<br />

sentence was modified to life imprisonment in June 1948.<br />
