Three of the accused, Seebach, Wichmann, and Weishar, were not tried.
Wefers was acquitted. Schaeffer was given a prison sentence of 5 years;
Nuszkowski and Winter, 10 years; Panhans, 20 years; Stuetz, 30 years; and
Wagner, life. Giovanazzi and Schmitz were sentenced to death. Giovanazzi’s
sentence was modified to life imprisonment in June 1948.
