nationality.These lists were compiled by the U.S.3rd Army from various original
sources (death certificates, notifications of decease to next of kin, death
books, and hospital records) found at the camp at the time of liberation. The
total count of 68,694 deaths is acknowledged as incomplete. Each entry provides
name, place of birth, and date of birth and death. A letter “J” indicates
Jewish nationality. There is no separate list for Jewish victims. Boxes 33–34
