Order of review, War Crimes Boards of Review (Mar.–June 1948), exe­<br />

cution of sentence form<br />

ETO Case 000­50­5­48, U.S. v. Heinz Bollhorst, was tried at Dachau,<br />

Germany, during the period September 26–October 1, 1947, before a General<br />

Military Government Court. The case concerned one defendant accused of<br />

participating in the operations of Mauthausen Concentration Camp <strong>and</strong> its<br />

sub­<strong>camp</strong>s <strong>and</strong> thereby, on the principle of common design, implicated in<br />

mass atrocities <strong>and</strong> other war crimes. The accused, a Waffen SS technical ser­<br />

geant, was a guard, block leader, <strong>and</strong> detail leader at Mauthausen <strong>and</strong> roll<br />

call leader at Wiener Neustadt. As approved by the reviewing authorities,<br />

Bollhorst was sentenced to life in prison.<br />
