Intrastate mutual aid<br />
subcommittee<br />
The Intrastate Mutual Aid Subcommittee is<br />
composed of first responder and support<br />
organizations. Members of the IMAC<br />
Subcommittee include the following, or their<br />
designee:<br />
• President of the Police Jury<br />
Association of Louisiana (PJAL)<br />
• President of the Louisiana Sheriffs’<br />
Association (LSA)<br />
• President of the Louisiana<br />
Municipal Association (LMA)<br />
• President of the Louisiana<br />
Association of Chiefs of Police, Inc.<br />
(LACP)<br />
• President of the Louisiana Fire<br />
Chiefs Association (LFCA)<br />
• Chair of the Regional Parish OHSEP<br />
Parish Directors Subcommittee<br />
• State Fire Marshal<br />
• Deputy Secretary, Department<br />
of Public Safety and Corrections,<br />
Public Safety Services (DPS)<br />
• Director of <strong>GOHSEP</strong><br />
The Intrastate Mutual Aid Subcommittee makes<br />
recommendations to <strong>GOHSEP</strong> on guidelines and<br />
procedures such as:<br />
• Projected or anticipated costs.<br />
• Checklists for requesting and providing<br />
assistance.<br />
• Record-keeping for all Parishes.<br />
• Reimbursement procedures.<br />
• Necessary implementation elements such<br />
as forms for requests and other records<br />
documenting deployment and return of assets.<br />
The chairman of the Subcommittee is appointed by the<br />
Director of <strong>GOHSEP</strong>. All remaining officers are elected<br />
by and from members of the Subcommittee.<br />
Responsibilities of . . .<br />
Requesting Parish<br />
A requesting Parish must:<br />
• Declare a state of emergency prior to<br />
requesting assistance.<br />
• Document the process from declaration<br />
through reimbursement.<br />
• Identify what is needed.<br />
• Agree on price and scope.<br />
Assisting Parish<br />
An assisting Parish must:<br />
• Verify details of the request for assistance.<br />
• Ensure receipt of proper authorization from a<br />
requesting Parish prior to deployment.<br />
• Agree on price and scope.<br />
Requesting + Assisting Parish<br />
Both a requesting and assisting Parish must:<br />
• Utilize the State emergency management<br />
process (WebEOC/IMAC board) for requesting<br />
assistance.<br />
• Adhere to guidelines set forth in the National<br />
Incident Management System (NIMS).<br />
• Participate in an After Action Review (AAR)<br />
and implement corrective actions.<br />
