Mission<br />
• Facilitate the integration of Federal<br />
Government capabilities to support local,<br />
State and Tribal governments and other<br />
infrastructure owners and operators in their<br />
efforts to achieve recovery goals relating<br />
to the public engineering of the Nation’s<br />
infrastructure systems.<br />
Function<br />
• To provide and promote a holistic approach<br />
to community, regional and multijurisdictional<br />
recovery coordination, support, planning and<br />
implementation of infrastructure systems<br />
restoration following a disaster.<br />
• To efficiently restore infrastructure systems to<br />
support a viable, sustainable community and<br />
improve resilience to and protection from<br />
future hazards.<br />
• To ensure agencies with requisite authorities,<br />
expertise and resources are positioned to<br />
provide assistance to and appropriately<br />
collaborate with local, State, Tribal and publicand<br />
private-sector infrastructure partners to<br />
strengthen the Nation’s security, reduce risk<br />
from disasters and expedite recovery.<br />
Infrastructure Sectors: Energy, water, dams,<br />
communications, transportation systems, agriculture<br />
(food production and delivery), government facilities,<br />
utilities, sanitation, engineering, flood control and other<br />
systems that directly support the physical infrastructure<br />
of communities and physical facilities that support<br />
essential services such as public safety, emergency<br />
services and public recreation.<br />

Mission<br />
• Integrate Federal assets and capabilities<br />
to help State and Tribal governments<br />
and communities address long-term<br />
environmental and cultural resource<br />
recovery needs after large-scale and<br />
catastrophic incidents.<br />
Function<br />
• To assist communities in the restoration and<br />
protection of natural and cultural resources<br />
and historic properties through appropriate<br />
response and recovery actions after a disaster.<br />
• To ensure restoration and protection activities<br />
are consistent with post-disaster community<br />
priorities and in compliance with appropriate<br />
environmental and cultural resources laws.<br />
• To coordinate departments and agencies<br />
providing information and assistance to<br />
communities seeking to preserve, protect,<br />
conserve, rehabilitate, recover and restore natural<br />
and cultural resources and historic properties.<br />
