<strong>GOHSEP</strong> is managing 2,023 FEMA PA Applicants and<br />

approximately $13 billion in Federal recovery dollars and<br />

$2 billion in hazard mitigation funding involving more<br />

than 34,000 separate projects.<br />

<strong>GOHSEP</strong> is responsible for creating and maintaining the<br />

State Hazard Mitigation Plan (SHMP). The SHMP can be<br />

found at gohsep.la.gov/publications.aspx. It identifies<br />

the 11 most likely threats to Louisiana and prescribes<br />

hazard mitigation strategies and initiatives to address<br />

those threats. <strong>GOHSEP</strong> also works with and provides<br />

technical assistance to local governing authorities<br />

to develop local hazard mitigation plans and identify<br />

funding opportunities through FEMA Hazard Mitigation<br />

Assistance (HMA) programs to implement local hazard<br />
