but pipe-bowls <strong>and</strong> those porous ear<strong>the</strong>n bottles<br />

used all over <strong>Egypt</strong> for cooling water. Kenneh<br />

is celebrated throughout <strong>the</strong> East for <strong>the</strong> manu-<br />

facture <strong>of</strong> both <strong>of</strong> those articles ; <strong>the</strong> water-bottles<br />

are packed upon enormous rafts <strong>and</strong> floated down
