usual occupation in the Highlands.

activity was organised by the ". D. F. and owed little to
Bryce.

Peace Committees in Edinburgh and Glasgow
comprised only a small section of Liberals, and in
Dundee a leading part was played by Rev i4alter Walsh
a Unitarian minister.
(4) On the other hand three
other Scottish ILPa. Richard Haldane$ Henry Asquith
and J. Hunro-Ferguson the chief Scottish Whip' could be
placed in the Imperialist comp; they had an extra
significance in that they wore front rank Liberal
cpblcecmon and potential ministers i1 Liberal administration.
