hardly a man <strong>of</strong> rank in Persia who is not born<br />

<strong>of</strong> a Georgian or Circassian mother." He adds<br />

that they inherit their beauty, "not from their<br />

ancestors, for without the above mixture, the<br />

men <strong>of</strong> rank in Persia, who are descendants <strong>of</strong><br />
