CONSTRUCTION and DEVELOPMENT
A bill has been introduced in the Maryland legislature
requiring coal operators to keep their miners'
tools sharpened and in proper order free of
charge. It is stated that the present practice is
for the companies to deduct one cent a ton from
the men's wages to cover cost of keeping tools in
repair.
