Summary<br />

In order study the influence of rations containing fresh and cooked artichoke bracts (Cynara scolymus<br />

L.) on productive performances, carcass, meat and inter-intramuscular fat quality traits in meat kids, 24 male<br />

"Saanen" kids were utilised. The kids, of 45 days of age, artificially nursed, divided in 3 groups of 8 subjects<br />

each, homogeneous for age and weight, were slaughtered at 110 days of age.<br />

The first group (witness) was fed ad libitum on a complete fodder, the second (A) and the<br />

third (B) were given 500 g/d for animal concéntrate and ad libitum fresh and cooked artichoke<br />

bracts, respectively.<br />

The results point out that the presence of the by-product in the diet does not negatively<br />

determine the in vitam performances of kids, even though it significantly increase (P
