Sophia gewinnt Contest
Die 22-jährige Studentin setzt sich beim Wettbewerb der „Abendzeitung“ – der ältesten
Model-Competition der Welt – gegen 199 Mitbewerberinnen durch. Was sie gewonnen hat.

Wow, was für eine Frau! Sophia Klebeck
ist die „Schöne Münchnerin 2019“. Und
damit Siegerin des ältesten Model-Contests
der Welt. Der Wettbewerb der
Münchner Abendzeitung findet durchgängig
seit 1949 statt. („Miss World“
wird erste seit 1951 gekürt und „Miss
Universe“ seit 1952).
Im März ist die 22-jährige Münchnerin
mit 199 anderen Kandidatinnen zum
offenen Casting angetreten und hat sich
– nach Fashion Shows, Challenges und
Castings – im Oktober beim Finale im
glamourösen Silbersaal des Deutschen
Theaters gegen ihre zehn Konkurrentinnen
durchgesetzt. Ein Mann hatte schon
vor dem Finale den richtigen „Riecher“:
Dieter Morjan, Chefredakteur von „Life
is Magnifique“, hatte den AZ-Contest als
Leser verfolgt und Sophia zehn Tage vor
dem Finale zum Shooting in die Sofitel
Munich Bayerpost eingeladen.
Für die „Schöne Münchnerin“, sie macht
ein Fernstudium in Produktmarketing,
ist es ihre allererste Miss-Wahl. „Ich
kann es kaum glauben, dass ich unter all
den großartigen Persönlichkeiten ausgewählt
wurde“, so Sophia bei der Siegerin-Ehrung.
„Das ist sensationell und
macht mich sprachlos.“ Neben dem Titel
hat sie einen Vertrag bei der renommierten
Agentur Louisa Models bekommen
und einen Opel Adam im Wert von ca.
18.000 Euro.
Bei allem Jubel – kein Grund für Sophia,
Klebeck die seit gut anderthalb Jahren
modelt, vom Laufsteg abzuheben. „Ich
bin motivierter denn je“, sagt sie. „Und
ich werde noch ganz viel üben, um noch
professioneller zu werden.“ Wenn sie
nicht übt, geht Sophia gern zum Bouldern,
in Museen und zum Tanzen. Erst
kürzlich hat sie mit Noah, ihrer großen
Liebe seit acht Jahren, einen Salsa-Kurs
gemacht. Gelegenheit zu kurz-kurz-lang-
Schritten, schwingenden Hüften und
wackelnden Schultern haben beide in
den nächsten Semesterferien: Da geht’s
zusammen nach Kuba.

Sophia wins contest
Wow, what a woman! Sophia Klebeck is the
“Schöne Münchnerin 2019“, which makes her
the winner of the oldest model contest in the
world. The Münchner Abendzeitung competition
has been taking place since 1949. We have
only been selecting a „Miss World“ since 1951
and „Miss Universe“ since 1952.
In March, the 22-year-old from Munich competed
with 199 other candidates for the open
casting and - after fashion shows, challenges
and castings - won against her ten fellow competitors
at the final in the glamorous Silver Hall
of the Deutsches Theater in October. One man
already had the right „instinct“ prior to the finale.
Dieter Morjan, editor-in-chief of „Life is
Magnifique“, had followed the AZ contest as a
reader and invited Sophia to the Sofitel Munich
Bayerpost shooting ten days before the final.
For this Schöne Münchnerin, who is doing a
correspondence course in product marketing, it
was her very first ‘Miss’ contest. „I can hardly
believe that I was chosen from all the great
people,“ said Sophia at the award ceremony.
„This is sensational and leaves me speechless.“
Aside from the title, she won a contract with
the renowned agency Louisa Models and an
Opel Adam worth about 18,000 euros.

With all this jubilation - there’s no reason for
Sophia Klebeck, who has been modelling for
a good 18 months, to leave the catwalk. „I‘m
more motivated than ever,“ she says, „and I‘m
going to practise a lot more to become even
more professional.“ When she‘s not practising,
Sophia likes to go bouldering, to museums and
dancing. Only recently she took a salsa course
with Noah, her big love of eight years. Both will
have the opportunity to take quick-quick-slow
steps, swing their hips and wobble their shoulders
during the next semester break, they’ll be
going to Cuba.
