presi<strong>de</strong>nte Lagos <strong>de</strong>c<strong>la</strong>ró a Vida Chile como política nacional. Para lograr los objetivos, <strong>la</strong>s<br />
estrategias incluy<strong>en</strong> programas para comunas saludables, escue<strong>la</strong>s promotoras <strong>de</strong> <strong>la</strong> salud, el<br />
programa salud para <strong>la</strong> g<strong>en</strong>te, lugares <strong>de</strong> trabajo saludables y el proyecto CARMEN. En<br />
2001 había 305 p<strong>la</strong>nes comunales <strong>de</strong> promoción <strong>de</strong> <strong>la</strong> salud, <strong>la</strong> estrategia escue<strong>la</strong>s<br />
promotoras <strong>de</strong> <strong>la</strong> salud había llegado a 2435 instituciones educativas y el sector salud había<br />
acreditado 32 escue<strong>la</strong>s como escue<strong>la</strong>s promotoras <strong>de</strong> <strong>la</strong> salud (<strong>Salud</strong> <strong>en</strong> <strong>la</strong>s <strong>Américas</strong>).<br />
