comunales y recomendar políticas de salud pública. El 21 de noviembre de 2000, el
presidente Lagos declaró a Vida Chile como política nacional. Para lograr los objetivos, las
estrategias incluyen programas para comunas saludables, escuelas promotoras de la salud, el
programa salud para la gente, lugares de trabajo saludables y el proyecto CARMEN. En
2001 había 305 planes comunales de promoción de la salud, la estrategia escuelas
promotoras de la salud había llegado a 2435 instituciones educativas y el sector salud había
acreditado 32 escuelas como escuelas promotoras de la salud (Salud en las Américas).

de la Política Nacional de Salud (1999-2003) y el plan promoverá el programa de municipios
