A estátua de bronze e alumínio
sob pedestal em mármore de
carrara de Frei Caetano Brandão
foi inaugurada em 1900. Projetada
pelo pintor Capranesi e fundida
pelo escultor Enrico Quattrini,
ambos italianos.
o quarto bispo do Pará, que se
notabilizou por sua obra em
favor dos pobres e desvalidos.
No centro, em memória de
seu patrono, há um monumento
em mármore encimado por
uma estátua em bronze do
grande religioso. As alamedas
da praça, de convergência
central, são ladeadas de
