monumento em
cada um de seus
lados: na parte da
igreja, o busto do
Barão do Rio
Branco; no lado
oposto, o busto do
jurista Rui
Barbosa,
homenagem
da
Prefeitura
de Belém.

Divided in two by Gama
Abreu Street, the square pays
tribute to the chancellor who
negotiated the annexation of the
state of Acre to Brazil, and
houses the Church of Santíssima
Trindade (Holy Trinity Church).
With gardens, benches and
trees to provide the
shade that is
always so welcome
in the Amazon, the
square has a
monument on
each side: on the side of
the church, the bust of
Barão do Rio Branco;
on the opposite side,
the bust of jurist Rui
Barbosa, a tribute by
Belém’s City
Hall. The
