Largos de Festas, Suplícios e Execuções 56 Largos for Festivals, Floggings and Executions índios e brancos se uniam para vivenciar, num momento fora do trabalho cotidiano e dos olhos vigilantes da Coroa, a alegria, a música, os símbolos de múltiplas leituras, a distribuição de comidas trabalhosas e, principalmente, um momento de relativização da ordem estabelecida, simbolizado pelas fantasias e pelos acontecimentos das festas.
