A PRAÇA FILIPE PATRONI NOMINAÇÃO HISTÓRICA Jardim Prudente de Morais / Praça Filipe Patroni Um amplo largo resultante do saneamento das águas pantanosas do igarapé do Piri e situado na parte de trás do Palácio Municipal, foi transformado pela ação embelezadora do intendente Antônio Lemos em Jardim Prudente de Morais, em 1908. Nos tempos atuais, já com a denominação de Filipe Patroni, jornalista paraense proprietário de O Paraense — o primeiro jornal impresso em Belém — FILIPE PATRONI SQUARE HISTORICAL <strong>DE</strong>NOMINATION Prudente de Morais Garden / Filipe Patroni Square. Originally a wide semi-marshy largo created by the draining of the Piri, located behind the Municipal Palace, it was transformed by the beautification efforts of Intendant Antônio Lemos into the Prudente de Morais Garden, in 1908. Currently named after Filipe Patroni, a Paraense journalist who founded Belém’s first newspaper, O Paraense, the thoroughfare is used mostly by Praça Filipe Patroni. De sua beleza ajardinada original pouco resta. Apenas árvores pequenas e raros canteiros floridos distribuídos de forma assimétrica, complementados por bancos de madeira e ferro.
