BRUZUS Phrygise.<br />

Note.—Bruzus is another Phrygian city, <strong>of</strong> which nothing is known but from its <strong>coins</strong> ;<br />

these show<br />

that it flourished from the time <strong>of</strong> the Antonines to that <strong>of</strong> the Gordiana. Hierocles associates it<br />

<strong>with</strong> the known positions <strong>of</strong> Doryleeum, Synnada, Polybotus, and Nacoleia, whence it appears to have<br />

stood in the eastern part <strong>of</strong> Phrygia, between the Sangarius and the sources <strong>of</strong> the Mseander.<br />

Antoninus Pius, was a Roman colony under M. Aurelius, and received a new colony under Severus<br />
