Note.—This was the celebrated epic poet C. Silius Italicus, who was consul in B.C. 68, and soon<br />

afterwards proconsul <strong>of</strong> Asia. Julia was the daughter <strong>of</strong> Titus, in whose honour the Smyrnsei struck<br />

the coin.<br />
