Note.— Myrleia stood at the modern Mudinia, the chief port <strong>of</strong> the great Turkish town Brusa.<br />

Prusias I., who received Mjrleia as a gift from his ally, Philip V., son <strong>of</strong> Demetrius, changed its<br />

name to Apameia, that <strong>of</strong> his wife. Some <strong>of</strong> the <strong>coins</strong> after this time bear both names, but after<br />

it had received a colony <strong>of</strong> Romans from Julius Cuesar or Augustus, the name Apameia alone<br />

on its <strong>coins</strong>.<br />
