Note.— This coin has no legend or letter, but in this it resembles the majority <strong>of</strong> the <strong>coins</strong> <strong>of</strong> Eion.<br />

It is a worn specimen, and difl'ers from thirteen in <strong>Numismata</strong> Hellenica, Europe, p. 48, iu having as<br />

type two geese instead <strong>of</strong> one, and in being about one-third <strong>of</strong> the weight <strong>of</strong> those <strong>coins</strong>. The ivyleaf<br />

refers to the worship <strong>of</strong> Bacchus, which prevailed in this part <strong>of</strong> Thrace.
